At Hillcrest, we believe that the preschool years, birth through age 6 are a crucial time in the spiritual development of each child.
We want to partner with parents to bring each child into the wonderful truth that God loves them and how very special they are to Him and to us. Sunday School offers age appropriate activities, music and stories using the Bible as a foundation for all teaching. Helping children understand that through prayer you really can talk to God. Most of a child’s spiritual education does not happen at church, but at home. It is our desire to partner with families as together we build a firm foundation in their child’s journey to accept Christ. Each child needs to feel safe, accepted, and know that church is a happy place, that Jesus loves boys and girls. Charles Schultz has said that a child is happy if he feels his parents love him, his neighbors love him and all of the people down at the church love him, for in this way he can also begin to know something of God’s love for him. We believe and teach John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that you might not perish, but have everlasting life.”
We believe that learning begins as early as the womb for all children. It is our desire as a preschool ministry to partner with parents as they embark on the journey of learning God’s truths with their preschooler.
Our Preschool Sunday School includes all children ages birth – Kindergarten. These years are crucial in the foundation of learning. We believe that all children are uniquely created by God and learn in many different ways. Through hands-on activities, repetition and sensory play children will have the opportunity to explore the world God has made for them.
